Comment ça marche ?

Employers can access and manage an online database of the cell phone numbers and salary details for each employee. They can manually disburse salaries through a web interface or set up automatic disbursements at regular intervals. When a salary is disbursed, the employee receives an SMS notifying him that his salary has been sent to his TagPay account.

Using their mobile phone to sign transactions securely, the employee can:

  1. Spend their money securely on the web or at a point of sale using NSDT™ to authenticate the transaction.
  2. Pay bills or buy airtime using the money in their TagPay account.
  3. Transfer money to another person’s cell phone via IVR or on the web.

Withdraw cash from an ATM or cash-out point. The phone must be present to authorize the transaction using NSDT™.

Société Africaine de Plantation d'Héveas (SAPH)

Ivory Coast is the leading producer of rubber in Africa and SAPH controls the production and commercialization of 70% of this natural rubber market. SAPH collects several thousand tons of raw rubber from plantations and pays plantation workers using TagPay.

SAPH is able to avoid transporting and distributing large sums of cash by simply disbursing salaries to worker’s cell phones. SAPH is helping to implant a network of TagPay merchants in rubber producing communities to allow plantation workers to spend their salaries or get cash back from these points of sale.

Related Use Case: Pension disbursement

Governments can use TagPay to disburse pensions to unbanked populations.

TagPay resolves security risks and costly logistics of distributing pensions in cash and gives those who receive pensions more control over how these funds are saved, shared, or spent.
